Not Dead, Just Chillaxing

I know it has been a hot minute between chapters, but I have been thinking and re-thinking some plot points that are coming up, and am not totally convinced by my current outline. DBL is far from dead. It's just chillaxing until such a time as I can whip it into shape.

  1. ...I need to check this blog more.

I'm happy to see a new DBL whenever it happens to show up, so no worries about taking some time to re-think things.

Man, I still keep thinking about that last chapter you posted. Everything from how frequently Horace and Lydia have sex to what their parents think about their marriage to whether Lydia is still interested in Ian to how much better Horace looks with that hair despite how unlikely he is to keep it that way. There have been a few of your chapters I've been similarly obsessive about in the past.

  2. Thanks, Van! The next two chapters are set in stone. What comes after is what I am still side-eyeing. I am not quite sure how drastically the outline will change before I commit to it, but we'll see what happens (it is currently plotted out up to Chapter 181-- not the end of the story, but far from where we are now).

*Hehehe* Well I can answer some of that! Horace is going back to the one-eyed hair slick, but I think that I have chosen a different mesh. I have to look at it on him. It's a little messier than his usual, but his usual hair is pretty broken in terms of the whole black scalp thing. Also, the animations are wonky.

Lydia does still have a crush on Ian. Horace knows it too, and is pretty resentful. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire family isn't wary of her involvement with Ian after the two of them disappeared in the middle of her birthday party at the Lotharios', only to return early the next morning looking completely wrecked. It seems unlikely that she will try another stunt like that one with Ian while she knows that Horace has some major issue that he refuses to talk about. She still actively fantasizes about Ian though. I want to do a chapter with Ian and Lydia now that I've written all of this. :p

Lydia and Horace have sex, probably, anywhere between one and three times a month. So far less than most couples. I do have to wonder which one of them initiates more frequently.

The parents! I think the parents are a mixed bag. Siren regrets pushing Lydia toward Horace, and wishes that she could have helped her make better life decisions in that regard. Troy thinks that this is just how marriages are in the upper castes. Indeed, he thinks that it could be worse. Angela is of the same opinion. Alex... I think he had no say in the marriage initially and now wishes that Lydia would run away with him to Veronaville. Jean-Luc and Izzy must talk about Horace and Lydia, but I am not sure what is said. Isabella would think that a strong marriage is something that people have to work hard at, and that Lydia and Horace simply aren't working hard enough. As for JL, I think he may remain pretty guarded about his opinion on the whole thing. He probably gives it a lot of serious consideration, but I can't know what he is thinking when he does.
