It only just occurred to me that my family tree software may not allow for same sex marriages/partnerships. So I fiddled around with it and indeed, it does not allow for same sex partnerships.
I can't quite figure out whether or not this is going to be a minor snafu.
Yeah, I noticed that when I whipped up a quick TribalPages site for one of my offline stories. What I ended up doing is just setting one of the guys as a girl, because it doesn't really specify the gender unless one of the parents had kids with more than one partner, and then only if the person didn't have any full siblings.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh Clever. I might do that if it pops up in the future.
ReplyDeleteLike if the story goes on long enough for Laurie and Cully to get hitched :p
ReplyDeleteHey, how long is the story going to be, anyway? Is it kind of like Lothere where as soon as you're done with any given plotline, you'll just introduce a new one, therefore allowing it to go on for several years, or do you have a definite ending planned?
Actually...
ReplyDeleteI suspect that Blue Lake will go on for 1 year (Blue Lake time, not our time) and then if I'm feeling extra, extra, extra spry I'll do a sequel that opens five or ten years later.
The story does have an ending but there are so many plots, who knows when it will really end. I'm thinking that it would take me three years to write it to its conclusion.
