Pleasantview Extras: Money

In reading the story, you'll find that many families that were not wealthy 24 years ago are quite wealthy now. But where did the money come from? Here's a quick run-down:

The Tellermans

Jan Tellerman is a townie that appears in every game. In mine, she worked as a mad scientist even before I made her playable by having her move in with Terrance Torrence. So, to start off with, she had a pretty sizable income. She and Terrance (not pictured) are Troy's parents. When Troy was quite little, Jan and Terrance broke up, leaving Jan to raise Troy on her own. Troy was a bit of a problem child and when he reached his early teens, Jan could no longer keep him under control. (I won't go into detail about that here. It's bound to pop up in the story.) She sent him to live with Terrance. Soon after, Jan married her housekeeper, Remington Harris (pictured above). Remington began Tellerman Farm. The Tellerman fortune (which is second only to the Goth fortune) comes mainly from the farm and also in part from Jan's career.

The Calientes

Troy remained very close with his mother, despite having been tossed into his father's lap. On his twenty-first birthday, Jan gifted him 200,000 simoleons (which, as you Simmers know, is a small fortune) to start off his life and his career as a trial lawyer. When he was 24 (and still living with his father) he purchased a large estate house. Terrance entered into a romantic relationship with his long-time friend and neighbor, Nina Caliente. She and her daughter moved into the estate house. Troy of course later married Nina's daughter, Siren. He took her last name.

The Dreamers

Cassandra begins seeing Darren on the rebound from Don. She gets pregnant with Phoenix and a few months after he is born, she consents to marry Darren. After her marriage, Mortimer gives Cassandra a small inheritance.

The Lotharios

(pictured here at Bachelor Manor, long before their marriage) When Mortimer passed, not only did that leave Dina with Michael's company (Pleasantview Motor Industries) but also a large chunk of the Goth fortune. She married Don scandalously soon after Mortimer's death.
