It's 2074, Pleasantview time. This is a modern world complete with cars and microwaves and the like. So why do the wealthy of Pleasantview often wear period dress? (And I use the ambiguous "period dress" because the clothing comes from various historical periods.) Answer: I just really like frilly clothes. I use that black corseted thing that Cassandra Goth wore as my justification. So technically, this could very well happen in Pleasantview. And all of that aside, clothing with high detail (to my mind) makes for more visually interesting pictures.
