Is this "diet cycle" some kind of religious thing? Or is this just Kvornan's OCD? "Let's see... it's an even-numbered month so I can't have any ketchup..."
ReplyDeleteIt's a religious thing. Kvornan is almost as non-OCD as they come. In fact, when he doesn't have other people taking care of him, he'll miss meals and showers and spend his time wandering around aimlessly. The only time he has any structure is when other people enforce it.

Heh, oh most definitely. Somewhere out in Alpinloch right now, Alexei is hopping on one foot every time he approaches a trash can.
ReplyDeleteComplex carbohydrates he can have, it's only to do with foods that grow beneath the soil. Roots and legumes and tubers can only be eaten when the ground is dormant. They have a lot of rules that tie back to the earth. It is thought that when certain of these rules are violated, it can result in mutations of the body and the life force. Mutations like vampirism. ;)
Hmm You know, going back, the cake that Jennail was eating in the first drabble was very specifically carrot cake which was a continuity error on my part (it was only September, methinks). However, if Jennail was eating carrot, then she was bringing in outside food (which is still in character for her) and there is an additional layer to the whole interaction, what with the two of them breaking a dietary rule. For me, this more clearly explains why Kvornan would just go for it. Hanging out in a secluded area with someone of the opposite gender while eating carrot in fall? This chick is a rebel too.
