It's A Small World After All

Troy's aunt Elena, whom he has never met and who inherited the Oswald-Torrence estate, married and later divorced Kent Capp. Troy has a young cousin from this marriage, Richard, who is currently at the head of the line for a betrothal to Sabina. (Are you following me so far? Because it gets weirder.) Kent traded Elena in for a younger model-- Uadjet Hummel, a captivatingly beautiful Fae woman. Kent and Uadjet had one daughter-- Nephele Capp-Davenport, who married a man very distantly related to her half-brother and to Troy as well.

  1. Oh the irony! Does Troy know all of this, or would he have to sit down and think about it?

Also, how does he feel about the idea of Sabina getting married? I mean, it's not like he can marry her himself, and he knows that, and he wouldn't leave Siren for her anyway, nor do I imagine her parents would approve of him, so is he just kind of grudgingly resigned to the fact that she'll end up marrying some other guy?

If it ends up being his own cousin, that could definitely stir up some drama...

  2. Not being the type of person to sugar coat things (unless he's in a courtroom or trying to get laid), Troy does realize that Sabina will undoubtedly get married within the new few years or even sooner. This irks him but it won't really be at the front of his thoughts until it happens. The day that Sabina gets engaged will be a depressing, mopey day for Troy. He would have to attend that wedding and he would have to pretend to like it. What can he do?

To compound all of this, he would probably feel really guilty about being depressed. First off, he wouldn't want his kids to see him that way. Secondly, it's just not fair to Sabina to expect that she should stay single and not move on.

Troy does not know that Richard wants to marry Sabina. Sabina doesn't even know. But I am certain he put together the fact that Nephele is related to him by marriage. Nephele probably doesn't even know that Elena had a brother, though.
