Contextualizing the Image and Storytelling

I was watching this old episode of Ways of Seeing and thought that it was relevant to simstorytelling. It deals with a subject that simstorytellers both rely and capitalize on-- The interpretation of an image, when set within a context (the context in our case being prose), becomes narrower than if the image were presented on its own.* Even the tone of an image can be manipulated based on the narrative presented alongside it. The show also talks a little about framing and the movement of the camera. Fun stuff.

*I know this sentence is stylistically abominable but I am too lazy to flesh it out.
